D-awning of a new age

Awning

it’s not completely moth-eaten

poles everywhere

insert pole A into hole B

Apologies for the dreadful title.

The awning handle and poles have arrived.

Seeing as she’s in a yard I’ve not fully erected the awning, but an initial unwinding shows no major holes and the 30 year old fabric seems to have held up well.

It’s quite stained in places and it may be worth getting a quote to see how much it would be to replace the fabric.

I’d really like a self supporting awning that does not require support to keep it up (tee-hee!) but again, it’s something to look into at a later date.

The next job is to get to a campsite and figure out how the poles fit together and whether it will remain erect or just flop down…
